Resilience is the ability to cope with ups and downs, bounce back and even grow in the face of challenges. Resilience is not just about managing current stressors, but also developing skills for dealing with challenges throughout life and enhancing mental health.

Learn how you can help kids develop skills, habits and attitudes for Building resilience by building good relationships, independence, confidence to face challenges and Managing emotions.

1YOUTHG20 -Literacy, Numeracy, IT & Life Skills

This program is aimed at disadvantage and disengaged 15 to 19 year olds in the Macedon Ranges Shire who are socially isolated. It will connect them to their local communities and may lead them back to school. The program may also lead to further pre accredited and accredited training.

Topics include:

  • Hospitality training (Barista),
  • Career guidance;
  • Resume writing,
  • Interview techniques,
  • Personal presentation,
  • Job search
  • and Internet safety.

It will also cover Life skills such as

  • Budgeting,
  • Safe driving,
  • Drug and Alcohol awareness
  • and more.

2LIFESKILLG20: Basic Literacy, Numeracy & Life Skills

This course is for students with mild intellectual disabilities. It teaches them the basics of literacy, numeracy and life skills through the mediums of arts and crafts.

Starts Thursday 30 April

Time: 1.30pm – 3pm – 6 sessions

2TUN20 -Tuning in to Kids

Would you like to learn how to help your child manage feelings and emotions (emotional intelligence)?
